Howdy y’all I Frank Manteau I’m Owner and Craftsman of Kamikaze Wood Werks and the Crayon Eater behind this creation called “The CRE™” Crayons Ready-to-Eat™. I am a Veteran of the United States Marine Corps. I was a member of corporate America but wasn’t happy, I started woodworking at a young age. I have over 20 years of knowledge. Although I have spent most of my life working with my hands. I grew up in Ohio learning how to build things whether it was in Scouting, helping on a local farm, in wood shop back in high school or things needed for my home. So being discipline and attention to detail isn’t new. I have always had a level of passion and creativity in the craft. I moved from Ohio to California in February 2013.
A proud graduate of Union Local High School in Morristown, Ohio, with a PHD that didn’t exceed 12 years. I went into the Marine Corps upon graduating. I served this country traveling across the world during my 7 1/2 year career where I not only earned the title as United States Marine and being called a Crayon Eater. I left my last job in outside sales behind to solely focus on my family and this new path in life as a wood worker.
As a single father with full custody of my two kids, Laura and Eric. I live and breathe for my kids and this passion. My twenty plus years of wood working and carpentry skills, along with knowledge of many types of joinery that I’m currently using in order to use the least amount of hardware as possible is keeping this craftsmanship style alive in each and every Kamikaze Wood Werks piece.
But in the Fall of 2017 I was working on a project for the El Capitan High School Color Guard using crayons to color a project. As I put a color in my mouth to grab other one the question of is there a edible crayon. Found my answer. Nope. So I reach out to an old co-worker from my O Reilly Auto Part days that went to school for baking and making pastries. Why because I’m a wood Worker not a Chocolatier. So you guessed it she’s the brains behind bringing the CRE’s™ to life so the world can have the 1st ever Edible/Writable Crayons.
